Germination rate: 97.7% (n=275)
Last QC test date: 2026-09-14
Indoor yield: 471-612 g/m² (avg across 7 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 673-1020 g/plant (avg across 6 verified grower reports)

About Big Band Feminised

Read Big Band backwards from the harvest: 500 g/m2 under lights, 500 g/plant outdoors, with resin filling out towards 18% THC. Weight goes on evenly across the 55-60 days of bloom, with a clear surge in the last two weeks that rewards leaving the plant alone. The 37/63 split gives you calyx density and an even spread of resin rather than one at the cost of the other. Outdoors, late September to mid-October is the window that misses the wettest of the finish across most of the country while still letting the caryophyllene arrive.

Getting the weight out of this plant

Three stretches of the 55-60 days of bloom decide whether you reach the top of this strain's range (500 g/m2 indoors, 500 g/plant outdoors). The rest is maintenance.

The first ten days of flower. What the plant does during the stretch sets canopy height, and canopy height sets how evenly the light lands. Somewhere around a third is typical. One pass of low-stress training over the tallest shoots keeps the top flat.

Weeks three to five. Caryophyllene production climbs through here, and it responds to a day-night temperature gap of 6-8°C. British autumn nights hand that to outdoor growers for free from September; indoors you have to build it, at roughly 25-26°C lights-on and 18-20°C lights-off. Bloom feed goes potassium-heavy around EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding and run pH-corrected water. Check trichomes daily under a 60x loupe — cut at 10-15% amber for the middle of the range. Outdoors that lands between late September and mid-October across most of Britain, and the weather forecast should get a vote.

Flowering: 55-60 days. Indoor yield: 500 g/m2. Outdoor yield: 500 g/plant. Rated intermediate difficulty.

What Big Band is actually like

Growers report euphoric, creative, calm as the defining characteristics and our own notes agree. At 18% THC this hybrid sits where the balance is the selling point. Taken small it stays functional; taken larger it relaxes properly. The ${indica}/${sativa} split means the direction is set by how much you take rather than fixed by the genetics. The Caryophyllene/Myrcene pairing leaves warmth and spice that dries slightly on the exhale.

Best suited to most occasions — the dose does the steering.

Terpene breakdown

Primary: Caryophyllene · Secondary: Myrcene · Tertiary: Humulene. This combination turns up often in cultivars that win things, and it is usually the one growers comment on when a jar is opened for the first time after curing. Caryophyllene anchors the aroma, myrcene occupies the middle, and humulene sits behind both — which is the part that separates this strain from others sharing its primary terpene.

Who it suits

Big Band suits growers with the basics in place. Understand pH, rough nutrient ratios and light cycles before you commit to it; it asks for competence rather than expertise. Photoperiod genetics leave plant size and harvest date under your control — veg longer for bigger plants, or flip early when space is short. The April to October season accommodates a bloom of 55-60 days comfortably for outdoor growers across the country.
