Germination rate: 96.8% (n=400)
Last QC test date: 2026-09-11
Indoor yield: 433-560 g/m² (avg across 9 verified grower reports)
Outdoor yield: 695-912 g/plant (avg across 8 verified grower reports)

About Sweet Cheese Feminised

Read Sweet Cheese backwards from the harvest: 400-600 g/m2 under lights, 350-550 g/plant outdoors, with resin filling out towards 18% THC. This 17/83 cultivar spreads its weight gain across the whole of bloom instead of front-loading it the way a quick indica does. Cutting early out of nerves about the weather is the most expensive mistake made with plants of this shape. In Britain that means holding through late September and into October depending on your latitude, because the limonene-led profile only fills out in the closing fortnight.

Getting the weight out of this plant

Three stretches of the 9 weeks of bloom decide whether you reach the top of this strain's range (400-600 g/m2 indoors, 350-550 g/plant outdoors). The rest is maintenance.

The first ten days of flower. What the plant does during the stretch sets canopy height, and canopy height sets how evenly the light lands. It can add half again its height. Supercrop anything that breaks the line of the canopy inside the first week or you will spend the rest of bloom lighting one branch properly and five badly.

Weeks three to five. Limonene production climbs through here, and it responds to a day-night temperature gap of 6-8°C. British autumn nights hand that to outdoor growers for free from September; indoors you have to build it, at roughly 25-26°C lights-on and 18-20°C lights-off. Bloom feed goes potassium-heavy around EC 1.6-1.8.

The last ten to fourteen days. Stop feeding and run pH-corrected water. Check trichomes daily under a 60x loupe — cut at 5-10% amber to keep the clear, lifted character intact. Outdoors that lands between late September and mid-October across most of Britain, and the weather forecast should get a vote.

Flowering: 9 weeks. Indoor yield: 400-600 g/m2. Outdoor yield: 350-550 g/plant. Rated intermediate difficulty.

What Sweet Cheese is actually like

Growers report happy, energetic, creative as the defining characteristics and our own notes agree. At 18% THC this sativa sits where most people find a workable window. Vaporised at 175-185°C the first effect is lift and mental energy, suited to work that benefits from it, a long walk, or an afternoon with company. The body stays light throughout, which makes it a genuine daytime option for anyone with a tolerance. The Limonene/Terpinolene pairing leaves a clean citrus finish that clears quickly.

Best suited to creative work, company, getting outdoors, and daytime use generally.

Terpene breakdown

Primary: Limonene · Secondary: Terpinolene · Tertiary: Pinene. These three build an aroma that keeps moving through the cure. Fresh off the dry it leads with limonene; after three or four weeks sealed in glass at 16-18°C the pinene underneath comes up and the whole thing gains a layer. Vaporising between 180°C and 195°C catches the widest span of them, since the lighter pinene molecules are the first thing heat destroys.

Who it suits

Sweet Cheese suits growers with the basics in place. Understand pH, rough nutrient ratios and light cycles before you commit to it; it asks for competence rather than expertise. Photoperiod genetics leave plant size and harvest date under your control — veg longer for bigger plants, or flip early when space is short. The April to October season accommodates a bloom of 9 weeks comfortably for outdoor growers across the country.

Stabilisation Notes — What This Means for Your Grow

A genuine F5 inbred line. Sweet Cheese has been progressed through five filial generations of phenotype selection at Royal King Genetics, working from the original 1990s landrace-derived reference stock. Population uniformity is the rule rather than the exception.

Breeding Goal

Pin down the original 1990s landrace-derived terpene profile in modern seed form.

Selection Focus

Chosen for clear-headed terpene expression, structural manageability and a finish that lands inside the published window.

Pollen / Mother Source

Royal King Genetics select-mother programme — pollen drawn from an internally maintained reversed-female line.
